Please join us at Hycroft (1489 McRae Ave) on Thursday, May 28th at 7 pm for the launch of an important new book: Working Mothers and the Child Care Dilemma.
Charting the growth of the child care movement in BC, scholar Lisa Pasolli reveals much about historical attitudes toward women’s roles at home and in the workplace. Her book celebrates the efforts of mothers and advocates who, for decades, have lobbied for child care as a central part of women’s rights as workers, parents, and citizens.
This event provides an opportunity to hear from the author and to learn more about the momentum behind the $10 a Day Plan – a proposed solution to the ongoing Child Care Dilemma in BC.
The evening is sponsored by the Coalition of Child Care Advocates of BC with UBC Child Care Services, UBC Press, University Women’s Club of Vancouver, Vancity and YWCA Metro Vancouver.
